New Contemporaries states a £25 non-refundable submission fee. Applicants must be emerging or early-career artists aged 21 or over and based in the UK, and the organiser states there are no strict requirements around education, training, upper age limit or career path. Artists previously selected for New Contemporaries are not eligible. Selected artists receive an artist fee, a travel and accommodation bursary, access support where needed, a structured monthly Artist Development Programme running September 2026 to June 2027, and an exhibition at Focal Point Gallery and partner venues across Southend-on-Sea, with the opportunity to sell work.
