In the organiser's words

What the official page says.

Quoted from bolognachildrensbookfair.com and checked on 24 August 2026. This is the organiser's description, reproduced as captured. It has not been through the evidence checks that produced the figures above.

Registration and file upload run from 28 July to 26 October 2026, at EUR 25 plus VAT, waived for students with an art-school code. Entrants submit exactly five illustrations on a single theme and an international jury selects roughly 300 finalists, announced by 31 January 2027. Selected illustrators receive two pages in the Illustrators Annual; winners under 35 are considered for the EUR 15,000 Fundacion SM award and unpublished illustrators under 30 for the ARS IN FABULA grant.
