What opportunities reveal about cost.

Entry fees are the easiest number to compare—and one of the least complete pictures of affordability.

Unknown is a finding.

A missing fee is not evidence that an opportunity is free. We keep it unknown until an official source states zero or publishes an amount. The same rule applies to travel, accommodation, production and return shipping.

Affordability happens after selection, too.

An apparently free exhibition can still require framing, insured shipping, travel, installation or sales commission. A residency may provide accommodation while leaving travel, meals and lost income to the artist.

These figures describe the records currently reviewed by Artist Opportunities. They are not a representative census of every global call and should not be used to estimate universal market rates.
