In the organiser's words

What the official page says.

Quoted from ruralhackers.com and checked on 3 September 2026. This is the organiser's description, reproduced as captured. It has not been through the evidence checks that produced the figures above.

Imagine waking up to the sound of the forest, walking stone paths worn smooth by generations, and sharing a meal with people who have lived their whole lives in the same valley. Then opening your laptop. Picking up your tools. Making something that has never existed before — and giving it back to the place that inspired it. That's what a Rural Hackers residency feels like. Anceu is a village of 102 people in the hills of Galicia, northwestern Spain.

It's quiet in a way that cities forget is possible. But it's not empty — it's full of stories, landscapes, neighbors, and a community that has learned to find possibility in slowness. When artists, makers, and technologists come here, something shifts. The village doesn't just host them. It collaborates with them. What's included: Private accommodation — individual room at Anceu Coliving with private bathroom Maker Space access — 3D printer, vinyl cutter, plastic recycling machine, and badge maker Weekly 1-hour mentoring session — a dedicated space to refine your idea, solve problems, and ensure your project connects meaningfully with the local context Creative community — you'll be surrounded by an international mix of creators, technologists, and open-minded people from all over the world Daily essentials — coffee, tea, milk, fresh bread, and olive oil Public closing event — every residency ends with a moment shared with the village: an exhibition, installation, workshop, screening, or public intervention For more information, you can check here https://ruralhackers.com/rural-hackers-residencies/
