Art residencies with Estudio Inverso Carabanchel Flame x Estudio Inverso is an independent, specialized contemporary art residency program designed to bridge international creative practice with Madrid’s most dynamic cultural ecosystems. Operating within an industrial open-studio warehouse containing 13 independent creative workspaces, our core objective is to provide international visual artists and researchers with the physical space, critical dialogue, and local network necessary to execute ambitious projects.
The residency is strategically structured around a dual-location urban concept: residents live in the central, trend-setting historic district of Malasaña—ideal for cultural immersion—and work in Carabanchel, the recognized epicenter of Madrid’s underground contemporary art movement. Core Activities & Program Structure: Independent Studio Practice: 24/7 access to dedicated workspace within our vibrant open-studio warehouse, fostering natural peer-to-peer exchange and creative cross-pollination.
Professional Scene Dissemination: Active promotion of the resident’s practice and project development directly across our established social media channels, connecting them with Madrid-based curators, collectors, and art professionals. Institutional Support: Provision of comprehensive, itemized invitation documentation to fully support artists applying for external mobility bursaries (such as Culture Moves Europe or Arts Council England).
Our primary goal is to act as an institutional launchpad, embedding global artists directly into Spain’s contemporary art market while offering a premium, worry-free living and production infrastructure.
