The Romantso Residency is a self-directed programme for artists, designers, architects, writers, researchers, curators and other creative practitioners seeking the time and space to develop their work while immersing themselves in one of Athens' most active creative communities. Based within the Romantso Creative Hub, residents become part of a vibrant ecosystem of cultural organisations, creative businesses and independent professionals, while also gaining access to the wider BIOS network of venues, programmes and communities across the city.

The residency is self-directed, with no required or expected outcomes, and unlike traditional residency programmes, Romantso does not prescribe a creative process. Instead, it offers an inspiring environment where residents enjoy the freedom to shape their own experience while living and working within an active creative hub. In addition, new creative or community connections are an important expected outcome of the residency.

At the duration or the end of the stay, residents have the opportunity to present their work through an exhibition, open studio, talk or performance (subject to availability).
